Treasurer’s Report

Katherine Howard

• Taxes are filed.
• April Income: Zoo passes – $760.00, Ed O’Leary donation – $100.00,
  Book shop – $236, Donations – $250.00, Membership – $180.00
• April Expenses: Discretionary Fund – $200, Printing – $79.00,
  Ed O’Leary Books – $17.75, Founders’ Day fee – $40.00, Postage –
  $15.60, Zoo passes – $5015.00
• Claudia O’Leary sent in a donation of $100.00 to add to the Police
  Chief’s books
• Book shelf. 20% of Zoo passes have been sold to date.
• Several people applied for membership. Paul Ivanovskis gave a very
  generous donation with membership dues.
• Katherine wishes to get rid of Money Minder as an accounting
  program. Annual cost is $400. Katherine feels using the spreadsheets
  and asks for suggestions on other applications. Lesleyann
  recommends keeping it simple! Rather than different program which
  are costly, use the spread sheet.

We are doing “Together with Pride” again in June partnering with other
organizations in Foxborough to host programs and celebrate pride.
The new Boyden Library logo was shared, as well as the new Friends one.

Trustee Report

Paul Ivanovski

• Trustees said good bye to Kevin and Joyce as Trustees. They
• welcomed Jonathan Clark and Adam Jenkins as new trustees.
• A donation of $2900 from Lakeview for museum passes was
  accepted.
• Looking at updating of furniture since it was last updated in 2012.
• Paul had many great compliments of the Community Reads.
• Sue noted that Town Meeting next Monday. There has been zero
  push back on the budget which added $5000 for programing.
  Advisory Committee voted unanimously for Library budget. KBH did
  an info graph at meeting.

Membership

Colleen McManus

• 171 members paid thru 2026, 119 paid in 2026
• 160 in 2025. April 4, 2026 4 new members, in April 2025 3 new members.
• 77 have not yet renewed. Hopefully lapsed members will be coming to the Book Sale and will renew.
• Colleen will print 4 membership lists for the book sale. Also, will print some membership forms. Katherine to work Thursday and Friday for
  book sale.
• Katherine asks Colleen to leave membership forms in Friends post box.
• Friday Bag of Books early sale for Friends members.

Book Shop

Margi Rossetti

• Lots of big donations as well as lots of books from book drive.
• Margi asked Libby if we can store some books under the stair case to which she agreed.
• Very nice book donations from Don Young and Jennifer Flynn which Matt will be able to sell on line for more than we can sell at book sale.
  Last year we made $1000 from partnering with Matt.
• Signs posted that Café will be closed for Book Sale dates. laminating the signs.
• All the large category signs are set and thanks to Ashley for laminating the signs.
• Margi has made a bag for the drawing. It includes Pros & Cons by a local author. Poetry To Make You Smile, Gift cards to Friends Book
  Store, Puzzle, shopping bag, Energizer book lights donated by Katherine. Margi to make a basket for Founder’s Day drawing.

Book Sale

Lesleyann Foster

• Advertising thru the Foxboro Reporter and an email blast from
• Boyden. Jen Linsky posted on Book Sale on Face book and Constant
• Contact.
• Lawn signs will be placed by Charles on Sunday, Mother’s Day.
• Everyone agreed to put them on their property again. Will send thank
  you note to those folks.
• Would appreciate more people on Signup Genius. No one on Friday 3-5/ Need someone with cash box experience. Many students have volunteered. Need someone to come in Saturday morning. Check Signup Genius for needed slots.
• Janice asked Lesleyann if she should send out email to her
  volunteers.
• 87 volunteers are on Signup Genius list.
• Colleen suggests sending email from Friends Email requesting more
  volunteers.
• Katherine said cash boxes are all set,
• Only Cash, credit cards and Apple Pay, but No VENMO.
• Betsy confirmed with Bay State Books for 5/18 pick up after book
  sales.

Old Business

Bylaws Committee

Changes to By-Laws. Sue made a motion to approve the 2026 version of By Laws, Katherine 2nd. Motion passed.

New Business

Founders Day:

• Kirstin has a canopy and will set it up. Betsy to pick up giant checkers and canopy from Library of Things listed under Sue.
• Margi to bring 4 light weight boxes of books (board books, picture books, teens, and chapter books.) Need a sign “Must buy something
  to enter Raffle.”
• Kelly to donate bags with Thank You. Katherine will send Shruthi a check. Make a sign: Suggested Donations $5-10 for Shruthi.
• Sue will bring tickets for Drawing.
• Bring membership forms to hand out.
• Ashley has a sample of the coffee cup with new Boyden Library logo.
  It looks terrific!
• Cost of bulk mugs $2 each. Profit $8 if sell at $10.
• Ashley: Sample magnet size of business card: $36 for 100 magnets.
  Sell for $1.

Ashley to put together the signage for the new merchandise.

• Friends approved in April $200 for the cups and magnets.
• Sue made a motion to sponsor a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card for the
  Short Film Festival, Kirstin 2nd. Motion passed.
• Sue to pick up gift card to give to Jennfir, who will bring to festival.
• Foxborough Arts Council has been fundraising for the 6th Fox for the
  new Community Center. Friends decided not to donate as our focus
  is fundraising for Boyden Library programming.
